Planning

Well, we have exactly a month until we take off for the land of kiwis- people, fruit and birds!
We think we have all the necessary gear to chill on the islands for two months living out of our backpacks. It probably would have been ten times easier if we weren't planning on going back country as well, but what is New Zealand if you don't take in the back country? The Coastal Track of Abel Tasman National Park for one and the wilderness of Fiordland National park with Milford and Doubtful sounds for another.
The excitement is building day by day as we handle the last little details of leaving home for two months (who's going to pick up our mail? Who will watch the apartment? Can we pay our bills from overseas? Etc) and of course, learning to use new gadgets! Who knew a camera could be quite so intimidating???
